THE DUO FIELD GUIDE

More natural eye contact with a teleprompter

Reading naturally starts with where you put the words. When the script sits close to the camera lens, your eyes have less distance to travel between reading and connecting with your audience.

Move the words closer to the lens.

Teleprompter Duo places the script near the selected recording lens on the supported Duo reading surface. In the camera-above-reader pose, the narrow reading column keeps the words near the camera. Position the phone at eye level and make the script easy to see.

Keep lines short.

Wide lines invite side-to-side eye movement. A shorter column can reduce that travel. Use a text size you can read without squinting and a width that does not force your gaze across the whole display.

Match the scroll to your speech.

A script that scrolls too quickly makes you chase the words. Start slower, rehearse a paragraph, and increase the speed only when comfortable. Pro voice following can adjust the script to your speech when on-device recognition supports your language.

For a measured starting point, follow our teleprompter reading-speed calibration guide. It includes a WPM calculation, timing examples, and a short rehearsal script.

Write for your voice.

Use everyday words, contractions, and sentences you can finish in one comfortable breath. Break longer ideas into paragraphs. If a line sounds stiff when you rehearse it, rewrite it before recording.

Watch a short test.

Record 15 to 30 seconds and review it. Check whether your gaze shifts visibly, whether your face is comfortably framed, and whether your pace feels relaxed. Adjust placement and text settings, then test again.

Put your next take in motion.
